WHEN DID YOU BEGIN WITH UNITY DOORS?

I started just last month, and I am now so happy to be able to really get into the swing of things.

WHAT DOES YOUR ROLE ENTAIL?

As Contracts Director I have overall responsibility for the running of all of the composite door Supply & Fit contracts throughout the UK, full control of the P&L budget for the Contracts function whilst ensuring that current HSE, Quality and Technical regulations are followed and adhered to in all aspects of what we do.

THAT SOUNDS FULL ON?

Yes, it is, but it’s the multi-faceted element of the role that is both a challenge and a reward. I do like to be busy and it’s certainly going to be the case!

HOW DOES YOUR ROLE IMPACT THE REST OF THE TEAMS?

A crucial part of what I do is to liaise and co-ordinate with clients and main contractors for all current and new contract agreements and serve as the point of contact internally with regional Contracts Managers and support/administration teams.

WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE JOINING UNITY DOORS?

There isn’t much I don’t know about doors to be honest! My background is in internal fire rated timber and steel fire rated external door sets. An experience which I am sure will serve me well. I have worked in the door industry, specifically the fire door industry all my career, starting out as a production operative/engineer for Leaderflush Shapland, before moving into my first Commercial role several years ago where I discovered the passion for Contract Management and Supply & Fit type works.

TELL US SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW…

I have three sons aged 4, 8 and 12 who all keep me very busy at weekends with playing football for various teams. This resulted in me becoming involved in coaching 4 years ago and gaining my FA coaching qualifications. Football and coaching is a real pleasure for me and I like to see people achieve their best.
